Short Term Skill Training (STT) : 

TNSDC is the nodal agency for skill related training and aims to catalyze the skill development eco-system in the State. It actively collaborates with Government Agencies, reputed private skill training institutions and industry partners to impart industry oriented and placement linked skill training. 

Training Partner (TP) :

A Training Partner registers Training Centres on TNSDC portal and acts as an umbrella organization for its respective Training Centres. 

Training Centre (TC) :

An entity registered and created by a TP to conduct training under various NSQF aligned job roles in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the TNSDC. These centres are established as per TNSDC norms. Empanelment of a TC will be valid for a maximum of 1 year. 

Candidate :

Candidate can register in TNSDC portal for free training offered by Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation. Candidate can view all course details available, including course duration and the syllabus adopted and apply through the portal. 

Assessment Agency : 

Assessment is one of the most important activities of the skills value chain. Trainees will be assessed & certified by State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT)/ Sector Skill Council (SSC) or any other reputed agency as decided by TNSDC. 

Amma Skill Training Program :

In order to ensure supply of quality workforce to the MSME sector, candidates were given intensive training under Amma Skill Training and Employment scheme in the MSME units for which a monthly stipend of Rs.2000/- per candidate is being paid from TNSDC 

Amma Two Wheeler Service :

The skill training course named “Automotive Service Technician ((Two Wheeler + Three Wheeler / Light Motor Vehicle /Power Tillers / Agriculture & Allied Machineries”) will provide skills on repair and maintenance of two wheelers and Agricultural machinery , to help them find employment in automobile showroom and service centers spread across the State and also create self-employment opportunities for the rural youth in 35 blocks in 2016-17 at a cost of Rs.1.40 crore. The Government also announced the AMMA Two wheeler scheme wherein working with 50% subsidy and the youth trained under the scheme will find job opportunities in repair and maintenance of these two wheelers.
